Data Centre Engineer (3 Year Contract Renewable)

About the Job: Seeking a Data Centre Engineer to support 24x7 data center operations, monitor performance, ensure security compliance, and contribute to process improvements. Key Responsibilities: Provide technical assistance to ensure the smooth operation of a 24x7 operating data centre, which includes maintenance, repair, and monitoring of critical equipment and systems.
Monitor the performance and availability of IT services, including the processing of production jobs and the escalation of incidents related to computer hardware, operating systems, application systems, and data centre facilities. Assist in maintaining data centre security and ensuring compliance with security protocols.
Support the reliability, availability, and performance of the event monitoring system to ensure service vendors meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Participate in process improvement initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the data centre operations.
Experience and Skills: Minimum qualification of NITEC or Higher NITEC in IT or related field. At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in data centre operations or IT support. Demonstrated positive attitude and a keen interest in IT. Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team. Ability to adapt to and perform shift duties as required. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA IT Fundamentals or Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) would be advantageous.
