Marking Punggol: Community Engagement Facilitator

apartmentOH! Open House placePunggol descriptionTemporary calendar_month

Marking Matters?: Marking Punggol (MM?:MP) is a year-long socially engaged art project in which 99 participants collectively contribute 10,000 volunteer hours to social causes in Punggol. Each participant volunteers 80-100 hours and, in exchange, receives an artwork by the renowned Thai contemporary artist Mit Jai Inn in honour of their contribution.

The project, which launched in March 2026, is now in its ongoing community engagement phase. Community engagements such as bi-monthly participant gatherings, social media/online features, and a book cataloguing participants’ stories aim to foster social connection among participants and raise awareness of the project among the general public.

Ultimately, the project seeks to build a culture and community of volunteerism starting with Punggol.

The Community Engagement Facilitator will support the planning and execution of MM?:MP’s community engagement initiatives, helping to strengthen relationships amongst participants and support their volunteer journeys throughout the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement & Programme Coordination
  • Organise and coordinate bi-monthly participant gatherings and engagement sessions
  • Source venues and coordinate event logistics, registrations, and communications
  • Facilitate gatherings and support meaningful interactions amongst participants
  • Participant Support
  • Build relationships with participants alongside their volunteer journeys
  • Support participants in documenting and reflecting on their experiences
  • Maintain regular communication and engagement with participants throughout the project
  • Work collaboratively with participants to co-develop programmes and activities
  • Storytelling & Documentation
  • Conduct interviews with participants for the project publication
  • Adapt participant stories into content for social media, website features, library exhibition and other communications
  • Assist in documenting community engagement activities and project outcomes

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. To apply, email both your CV and dedicated cover letter to Ms Tang Hui Shi at hel••@ohopenhouse.org.
