Geylang - Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a mechanical engineer to join our vibrant and driven team working on solving challenging problems in robotics and digital twin. As a mechanical engineer under the projects team at dConstruct, you will be building the systems needed to tackle the complex real-world problems we seek to tackle.

Responsibility:

1. Design mechanical structure including sensor mounting for a tunnel inspection project
2. Plan and select hardware components required for tunnel inspection
3. Design and plan electronics wiring diagrams for sensors
4. Liaise with supplier to manufacture different mechanical components
5. Retrofit a track trolley to fit different inspection sensors
6. Liaise with electrical engineers, software engineers and other stakeholders to deliver a robust hardware for tunnel inspection project
7. Understand stakeholder requirements for part selections
8. Ensure hardware components are in good working condition and perform troubleshooting for issues that arise

Requirements:

1. Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering, robotics engineering, or other related fields. Experience and knowledge in robotics fields are preferred.
2. Familiar with CAD software. SolidWorks is preferred.
3. Familiar with manufacturing technologies (3D printing, sheet metal, etc.)
4. Comfortable with tool usage, including power tools
5. Bonus to have basic knowledge of C/C++
6. Familiarity with robotics systems, such as control systems, actuators and sensors
7. Familiarity with industrial safety standards
8. Good technical communication skills
9. Able to work independently with some guidance
