Deputy Course Manager/Course Manager, Design

We are building a future-facing design department aligned to industry, technology, and regional opportunity. This role is not purely academic administration — it is about shaping curriculum strategy, industry relevance, and graduate employability outcomes.

We are considering appointing either:

• Deputy Course Manager (for strong industry practitioners transitioning into education), or
• Course Manager (for candidates with prior academic leadership experience)

Title and remuneration will be aligned to experience and track record.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Programme Growth & Development

• Identify market trends and emerging skill demands in design-related industries
• Develop and launch new courses aligned to industry needs
• Refresh existing curriculum to ensure relevance and differentiation
• Contribute to positioning and packaging of programmes for market competitiveness

1. Industry Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with design studios, agencies, brands and technology partners
• Source live briefs, collaborations and guest practitioners
• Translate industry insight into curriculum enhancements

1. Academic Delivery & Oversight

• Teach and supervise selected modules and projects
• Ensure quality of curriculum design, assessment and delivery
• Support adjunct lecturers and maintain academic standards

1. Department Development

• Contribute to enrolment growth initiatives through programme development and market positioning
• Participate in planning, review and continuous improvement processes

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design, Experience Design, UI/UX or related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
• Strong understanding of current design tools, workflows and digital platforms
• Commercial awareness and ability to identify growth opportunities
• Experience in education or curriculum development is an advantage (required for Course Manager appointment)

• Deputy Course Manager: From $4,800 per month
• Course Manager: Up to $6,500 per month (Commensurate with experience.)
