Responsibilities Product Development: Market Research Undertake targeted market research requested by underwriters to support the enhancement of existing products and the development of new products. Provide recommendations on coverage or wording amendments to underwriters and management for consideration.
Policy Form Development & Maintenance Draft policy wordings, proposal forms and endorsements (standard and manuscript) in consultation with underwriters. Ensure that Liberty drafting protocols, including style and rules of policy drafting, are applied consistently across all products and that internal sign-off requirements are met.
Ensure products are updated in line with current legal decisions and requirements, and ensure the cover provided is as per underwriters' intention. Instruct and manage the overall quality and performance of external consultants and lawyers where necessary.
Maintain the product by managing and updating the standard endorsement library for the full duration of the policy wording. Product Launch Assist underwriters in the development and execution of product launch and post-launch marketing strategies, including delivery of new and enhanced products to market.
Produce marketing collaterals such as product profiles, technical specifications, claims examples and case studies. Assist in providing underwriter training in respect of new or updated products. Assist underwriters in the rollout of new products to market, including participating in broker presentations, where required.
Marketing: In conjunction with underwriters and the Marketing team, assist with the development, coordination and execution of the new product's marketing strategy including: Project management of marketing initiatives, including managing relationships with the Marketing team.
Assist with the production and distribution of other marketing materials to enhance Liberty's position as a knowledge leader, including direct email campaigns and participating in broker/client social events. Technical Support & Training: Assist underwriters with technical queries.
Assist underwriters with risk analysis, including suggesting solutions to underwriting challenges. Approve standard endorsements, manuscript endorsements and policy wordings in accordance with Liberty's protocols. Contribute to Liberty's training and development initiatives.
Support underwriters to conduct policy comparisons. Provide commentary on broker forms as required including suggestions or solutions to remedy issues. Assist underwriters improve their drafting skills. Assist underwriters understand and explain Liberty's marketing message and the benefits of Liberty's products.
Develop and deliver regular drafting workshops to underwriters. Team & Self Development: Contribute to an effective team environment by interacting professionally with all team members and providing development, support and assistance as required.
Demonstrate behavior at all times in line with Liberty's core values. Ensure compliance with all Liberty legal, statutory and corporate affairs requirements. Take responsibility and show initiative in the development of your technical and soft skills.
Continue to seek improvement of the product and of self by the continuous improvement of practices and processes. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Experience & Skills Bachelor of Laws Degree essential. Insurance lawyer, preferably with a minimum of 5 years post admission experience, or General (non-Life) Insurance industry experience, preferably including Financial Lines and Casualty products.
Preferably fluent in written and spoken Chinese (Mandarin). Professional experience and interest in Risk Management and/or Marketing/PR desirable. Excellent working knowledge of PC based systems and applications such as Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database systems for managing contacts, schedules and calendars is required.
