Associate Producer, Tamil Current Affairs

The Associate Producer (Current Affairs) works closely with producers to ensure smooth production and execution and delivery of episodes of Tamil current affairs programmes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist producers in pre-production planning, shoot coordination and post-production activities
• Coordinate bookings for studios, locations, equipment, talent, and production logistics
• Support budgeting processes - prepare cost estimates, track expenses and ensure expenditures are within approved limits
• Handle administrative and procurement processes including contracts, payments and vendor onboarding
• Coordinate with graphics and post-production teams to ensure timely delivery of visual assets
• Manage footage organization, ingestion and AI-assisted transcription of interviews
• Ensure necessary releases, permits and copyright clearances are secured
• Support on-site filming logistics, including crowd control, crew and talent management
• Assist in organizing promotional activities, award submissions and special projects
• Maintain proper archiving of programme materials and stock footage

• Degree or Diploma in any discipline, preferably in Mass Communications, Media or related fields
• Relevant industry experience will be an advantage
• Strong interest and knowledge in media production, digital platforms, and social media trends
• Proficient in planning, organizing and coordinating production activities
• Hands-on ability to operate cameras, sound, and basic video editing systems
• Detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to solve problems independently
• Team player who collaborates effectively and thrive under pressure to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
