Senior Executive / Assistant Manager - Business Development
About the role
Nippon Sanso Singapore Ltd is seeking an ambitious and driven Senior Executive / Assistant Manager - Business Development to join our team in the Pioneer West Region. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for driving new business growth and developing strategic partnerships to expand our market reach.With a focus on identifying and pursuing new opportunities, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future success of our organisation.
Sales & Business Development- Identify, develop, and close project-based sales opportunities (on-site generation, greenfield, brownfield gas supply projects for bulk and packaged gases, specialty gases).
- Lead customer engagement from initial enquiry through proposal development, technical discussions, and contract negotiation.
- Promote engineering and project capabilities to customers in industries such as petrochemicals, steel, electronics, healthcare, energy, and clean technologies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, EPC contractors, consultants, and government/industry agencies.
- Work with engineering and operations teams to design technical solutions tailored to customer needs (e.g., plant sizing, supply mode optimization).
- Develop detailed bid plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Prepare and present techno-commercial proposals, including project economics, investment models, and ROI analysis.
- Ensure proposals are competitive, aligned with company standards, and meet safety and sustainability requirements.
- Develop and maintain a project pipeline with clear prioritization of opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and government/industry policies impacting project demand.
- Present bid strategies and progress to senior management and customer.
- Track and report on bid success rates and areas for improvement.
- Maintain a bid library and document templates for efficient reuse.
- Lead commercial negotiations on project pricing, long-term supply agreements, and EPC/turnkey contracts.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and administer a variety of contracts, including but not limited to, client agreements, vendor contracts, service agreements, non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and partnership agreements.
- Structure contracts that balance customer satisfaction with company profitability and risk management
- Ensure contracts are compliant with company policies, regulatory requirements, risk management standards and industry regulations.
- Monitor contract performance, ensuring obligations are met and amendments are processed as needed.
- Maintain a contract repository and ensure proper documentation and version control.
- Resolve contract-related disputes in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical) or related field; MBA or equivalent business qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of sales or business development experience in industrial gases, chemicals, energy, or related engineering project fields is an advantage.
- Strong technical understanding of gas supply systems (on-site plants, cryogenic, non-cryogenic, pipelines).
- Proven track record in project sales and closing large, long-term contracts.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with experience in business case preparation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- High standards of integrity, safety, and compliance.
