Safety Officer - LTA/SP Group

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and safety-driven Safety Officer to support major LTA infrastructure and or SP PowerGrid utility projects. In this role, you will be instrumental in fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and safeguarding workforce wellbeing across high-impact national projects.

• Key Responsibilities
• Workplace Safety Management
• Implement and enforce Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) policies, procedures, and safe work practices across project sites.
• Conduct daily site safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with LTA, SP PowerGrid, and MOM safety regulations.
• Monitor high-risk activities including lifting operations, excavation works, electrical works, and confined space operations.
• Compliance & Documentation
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation such as Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
• Ensure all activities comply with statutory requirements, project specifications, and company safety standards.
• Support internal and external audits conducted by clients, authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Incident Prevention & Investigation
• Conduct incident, accident, and near-miss investigations and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Track safety performance indicators and prepare safety reports for management review.
• Promote proactive hazard reporting and continuous safety improvement initiatives.
• Training & Safety Culture Development
• Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and site inductions for workers and subcontractors.
• Promote safety awareness campaigns and enforce proper PPE usage onsite.
• Coach and guide site teams to maintain strong safety ownership and accountability.
• Stakeholder Coordination
• Liaise closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and client safety representatives.
• Coordinate with LTA and SP PowerGrid safety officers during inspections and site audits.
• Support emergency response planning and drills.
• Requirements
• Registered WSH Safety Officer with MOM (Singapore).
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Advanced Certificate in WSH / equivalent).
• Experience in LTA, SP PowerGrid, infrastructure, or construction projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH regulations and safety management systems.
• Excellent communication and enforcement skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced construction or utilities environment.
