Rail Permanent Way - Technician (Maintenance) - Woodlands

Responsibility

Assist in booking, coordinating, planning and processing of Track Access Request.
Shunting and Driving of Engineer's Train/Train/Locomotives/Vehicles/Wagons.
Participate in the Rail replacement operation for track & 3rd Rail system to ensure that the permanent way is maintained to the standards agreed with the Operating Department.
Perform railway maintenance works on 3rd Rail system, Buffer Stop and Insulated Rail Joint.
Clean & maintain the tracks and tunnel manually and using Track Cleaning wagon.
Grind tracks using manual grinding tools and Rail Grinding Vehicle.
Respond to any fault relating to track, tunnel, 3rd rail system reported by OCC/Engineer to rectify and prevent/minimise any service disruption.
Preparing of train consists, equipment, spares etc to meet the maintenance needs of night shift work.
Troubleshoot and arranging for defective equipment and tools to be rectified.
Assist in the maintenance, data collection and analysis of track measuring system
Managing the Pway stores in DTL mainline and depot.
Support other section work in the department as requested by Supervisor.
Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements

Nitec or Higher Nitec in Engineering
Ability to perform permanent night work
Fresh graduates may apply
Good communication skills

Responsible and dependable
