The Product & Channel Merchandiser plays a pivotal role in driving brand presence and sales performance across retail channels. This position oversees visual merchandising, POSM planning, product lifecycle management, and go-to-market (GTM) execution.
The merchandiser collaborates closely with the marketing and sales teams to implement localized campaigns, train retail partners on new product knowledge, and support live streaming and launch events. By combining operational execution with strategic planning, this role ensures consistent brand visibility, effective product rollouts, and sustained market competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Branding & Marketing Coordination- Collaborate with the marketing team to coordinate marketing plans across all sales channels.
- Develop and customize localized visual marketing materials for individual channels.
- Plan and manage the deployment of POSM (Point of Sale Materials), ensuring timely delivery to all stores.
- Support product exposure through live streaming sessions, engaging audiences and enhancing product awareness.
- Design, implement, and monitor internal training programs for project staff, full-time, and part-time employees.
- Ensure training activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate organizational training needs and plan for external vendor or supplier-led sessions.
- Create training evaluation tools and expand programs based on team or individual development goals.
- Provide new product knowledge training to retailers, ensuring frontline staff are equipped to introduce and sell products effectively.
- Define sales targets and key evaluation metrics for each new product launch.
- Actively promote new product releases and manage launch preparation and sales follow-up processes.
- Organize and support new product launch events in collaboration with the sales and marketing teams.
- Assist the Sales Manager in executing launch activities and promoting flagship products.
- Track product sales performance and manage the complete lifecycle of products on the market, ensuring smooth transitions and timely iterations.
- Provide sales data analysis and cleanup recommendations for discontinued or obsolete models.
- Assist with pricing strategies for new products and pricing adjustments for existing models.
- Monitor and track performance of key models, providing insights for business decisions.
- Conduct monthly performance reviews and adjust upcoming sales goals and focus areas accordingly.
- Plan product mix and long-term product roadmap strategies based on competitive analysis and market trends.
- Communicate in Mandarin with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
- Adapt to Chinese corporate culture (communication, workflow, organizational structure).
- Diploma or above in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in the mobile phone, consumer electronics, or FMCG industry is a strong advantage and will be considered a plus.
- Familiarity with retail channels, product display, and in-store promotion is highly desirable, especially with hands-on brand execution experience at the terminal level.
